Imagine this scenario…you’re a student, you can’t cook, you live alone, you’re STARVING, and you don’t know where the hell to eat despite the fact that you live in a metropolis with tons of restaurants.
In a city filled with tons of options like Makati, it is no surprise as to how much of a daunting experience it is to find a good place to eat…especially when you’re a very picky person. By some very timely coincidence, as if on cue, I stumble upon a friend of mine who introduces to me this app called, Zomato.
Zomato is this food app that tracks down your location and instantly brings up a list of nearby food places. (update) Zomato was started by Deepinder Goyal when he was already working at Bain and Company and he realized that people waited too long in the queue just to be able to see menus. So what he did was he scanned these menus and started to email his co workers and he realized that there was an audience for such scanned menus. Now, how is Zomato different from all the other foodie apps out there?
Here’s an actual scenario of my day….
It was 3 pm and I made my way to BGC for some Sunday brunch. Suddenly, it rains like hell and I did not have an umbrella with me. To add to this catastrophe, the restaurant closes at 4 pm and I needed to bounce off somewhere else. Sure, this was BGC…I’m bound to find a place to eat just around the corner, but I was being picky and I didn’t want to go off in the rain just to look for other options.
Wasn’t that easy? You could be super drunk and still find a place to eat with this app! In less than a few minutes, I found myself dry and satisfied at a different establishment….haha.
My diet is officially history…but who says I can’t go use this app for some healthy/vegan place! 🙂
PS: I’m not being paid to post about this…I’m just too amazed because this app saves me from my insatiable hunger.
