Travel Bucket List – Philippines Edition

27 Nov

It has always been a dream of mine to have a travel blog because that would mean I’m actually doing some real traveling. Another dream of mine is to be a solo traveller, you know…for that drama effect. Haha! Right now, I can only content myself with making bucket lists and stalking airline companies for special promos. Eventually, I’d want to travel the world, but it has come to my attention that I do live in a very beautiful country. Poverty and political drama aside, the Philippines is such a wonderful place to be in.

Here are some of my dream destinations around the country:

1. Coron, Palawan
“The most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen” -according to a friend…well, I’m utterly convinced!

2. Lake Sebu, South Cotabato
-The T’boli tribes are one of the main dwellers of this area and would you just look at that beautiful lake?!

3. Vigan, Ilocos Sur
-I’ve always wanted to try that Ilocos Empanada and to also “transport back in time.”

4. Hinatuan River, Surigao del Sur
-This river is so deep, the water is blue. Also, no one has ever successfully managed to find out where the source of this river is.

Image5. Batanes
-I want to go to the Honesty Cafe, take jump shots in the grassy fields with the grazing cows, and to pretend to be Julie Andrews from the Sound of Music.

6. Mt. Kitanglad, Bukidnon
-It’s an inactive volcano and the fourth highest mountain in the country.

7. Hanging Coffins, Sagada
-This is still being practiced today, but for a very high fee, because being buried in this manner is of great honor.

8. Banaue Rice Terraces, Ifugao Province
-It’s the 8th wonder of the world!!!…enough said.

9. Sarangani
-Think beautiful white sand beaches sans the capitalism.

10. Bongao Peak, Tawi-Tawi
-I just want to go to the most far flung corner of the country to Bongao Peak which is actually a sacred mountain for the locals…and I’m very interested in Tawi-Tawi ever since I met a friend who is part of an indigenous tribe here.

Lost? Hungry? Never again!

27 May

Imagine this scenario…you’re a student, you can’t cook, you live alone, you’re STARVING, and you don’t know where the hell to eat despite the fact that you live in a metropolis with tons of restaurants.

In a city filled with tons of options like Makati, it is no surprise as to how much of a daunting experience it is to find a good place to eat…especially when you’re a very picky person. By some very timely coincidence, as if on cue, I stumble upon a friend of mine who introduces to me this app called, Zomato.

Zomato is this food app that tracks down your location and instantly brings up a list of nearby food places. (update) Zomato was started by Deepinder Goyal when he was already working at Bain and Company and he realized that people waited too long in the queue just to be able to see menus. So what he did was he scanned these menus and started to email his co workers and he realized that there was an audience for such scanned menus. Now, how is Zomato different from all the other foodie apps out there?

Here’s an actual scenario of my day….

It was 3 pm and I made my way to BGC for some Sunday brunch. Suddenly, it rains like hell and I did not have an umbrella with me. To add to this catastrophe, the restaurant closes at 4 pm and I needed to bounce off somewhere else. Sure, this was BGC…I’m bound to find a place to eat just around the corner, but I was being picky and I didn’t want to go off in the rain just to look for other options.

Wasn’t that easy? You could be super drunk and still find a place to eat with this app! In less than a few minutes, I found myself dry and satisfied at a different establishment….haha.

My diet is officially history…but who says I can’t go use this app for some healthy/vegan place! 🙂

PS: I’m not being paid to post about this…I’m just too amazed because this app saves me from my insatiable hunger.

My Evil Shade of Red

17 May

I’m always in search for various shades of red that flatter my skin tone and I think MAC Diva is one of those shades. Unlike the Russian Red, this one has brown undertones rather than blue…and it has this creamy matte consistency.

I’ve been waiting for a chance to wear this lovely and evil-looking shade of red, but I couldn’t find a “proper” time because this shade is just too dark to use during the day. Besides, I don’t really go out at night to party because that’s just not how I roll nowadays. Here, I decided to wear it out to do some errands and a little bit of shopping in the mall last Sunday.

At this point, I did not care if it was a bit much for a casual day. Putting on lipstick always makes me feel so classy and fabulous. Haha…gay…I know….
